Nagaland is known as the land of festivals as each tribe celebrates its own festival with dedication and passion.
Hornbill Festival is held at Naga heritage Village, Kisama which is 12 km from Kohima.
The week-long festival unites one and all in Nagaland and people enjoy the colourful performances, crafts, sports, food fairs, games and ceremonies.
The Hornbill Festival provides a colourful mixture of dances, performances, crafts, parades, games, sports, food fairs and religious ceremonies.
In the evenings a programme of music concerts, catering for all tastes, ensures that the festive spirit continues through the night.
 
ITINERARY: 8Night/7Day
 
DAY 1:
REACH GAUWAHATI AND BOARD TRAIN TO DIMAPUR – Nov 30
Reach Guwahati by Morning to make sure you have ample time to relax before boarding.
The train from Guwahati for Dimapur will leave at 12.10 pm.
Reach Dimapur around 4.30 PM.
Stay overnight at Dimapur
 
DAY 2:
DRIVE TO KOHIMA – Dec 1
Wake up, Freshen up and start driving to Kohima.
Upon reaching Kohima we will check in to our tents.
Stay overnight in the Campsite.
 
DAY 3:
VISIT TO KISAMA HERITAGE VILLAGE – Dec 2
After breakfast, we will visit the Kisama Heritage Village which serves as a venue for Hornbill festival.
Hornbill festival is celebrated with enthusiasm and zeal.
It showcases the vibrant and rich culture of Naga people.
Stay overnight in Campsite.
DAY 4:
VISIT TO MORUNGS, NIGHT CARNIVAL – Dec 3
After breakfast, we will visit the Kisama Heritage Village and complete visiting all the Morungs.
In evening, we will go for the night carnival.
Stay overnight in the Campsite.
DAY 5:
TREK TO DZUKOU VALLEY – Dec 4
After Breakfast, we will leave for Dzukou valley base camp and will start our trek to the enchanting Dzukou valley.
The valley is also known as “valley of flowers” of North East India.
The trek will take about 3 hours.
We will camp near the rest house.
DAY 6:
TREK BACK FROM DZUKOU VALLEY – Dec 5
After Breakfast, we will trek back to the base camp and will move towards Kohima.
We will visit the War Memorial and Nagaland State Museum in Kohima.
Stay overnight in the Campsite.
DAY 7:
BOARD TRAIN TO DIMAPUR – Dec 6
After breakfast we start towards Dimapur.
Stay overnight in Dimapur
 
DAY 8:
RETURN TO THE RESPECTIVE DESTINATIONS – Dec 7
Catch the early morning train to Guwahati.
Reach Guwahati at 11 AM. Board flight to our respective destinations from Guwahati
