About the campsite

The Avalanche Camp is located deep into the Nilgiri Bio-Sphere. Avalanchi or Avalanche remains disconnected from the modern world. It's a place where time slows down and lets you enjoy the little joys of life which you otherwise fail to even notice or appreciate - Sipping hot cup of tea on a cold morning, lying by the bank of a lake and doing nothing, looking up at the sky & counting stars, taking a leisurely morning strolls without having to look at the clock.

Cocooned by thick greenery, a turquoise blue lake & near impenetrable Western Ghats it's a place Google map struggles to locate. Camp amidst lush greenery in tents & explore nature trails, spot animals, take dips in ice-cold waterfalls, picnic in Avalanche Lake. The Campspot is so far removed from the civilization that you can only reach the camp through a 2 hour hike. In other words 'if you do a Google navigation it will take you nowhere'

Day 1

Morning:

Hiking
Reach base camp by 11.00 noon, park your vehicle and start hiking to the campsite (Guided Hike). The hike is around 2 hours and takes you through unadulterated reserve forest

Noon:

Check In Reach campsite, check-in to your tents and finish your lunch

Noon:

Lake Kayaking
Post lunch relax for a bit, hike to Avalanche lake (10 mins) & go on a surreal Kayaking Trip

Night:

Night Hike
Go for a night hike around the camp

Day 2

Morning:

Bird Watching
Wake up, finish morning tea and hike to the lake to explore the wilderness

Noon:

Waterfall Rappeling
Finish breakfast & head out for a thrilling Waterfall Rappelling / Jumaring (Depending on the weather)

Noon:

Hiking
Finish lunch, checkout and hike back to the campsite

Important Info

Check-In: 1.00 PM
Check-Out: 2.00 PM

The campsite can only be reached by a 2 hour hike from the basecamp. May not be suitable for elders. This is also a pure camping place with just basic but adequate amenities. There is only very minimal electricty just enough to run the kitchen.

Accessible by:
Cars, Bikes & Public Transport + Hired Taxis. From the base camp parking only way to reach the campsite is by hiking.

Cancellation Policy:

75% refund for all cancellations done 7 days before the date of stay
No refund for cancellations within 7 days from the date of stay
Booking dates cannot be transferred / rescheduled
Incase of govt. imposed lockdowns / Covid disruptions, option to reschedule booking to any other date within a year will be given. No refund will be issued.
Refunds if any will be credited to the source account in 7 working days

How to get here?

1) Drive to campsite parking at Emerald on your own (Location will be shared on booking). You could park your vehicle and join us the hike to the campsite
2) You can book bus to Ooty and take Jeep to the camp parking lot (Approx Rs.550/Person bothway).
3) Take transport arranged by us from Chennai to camp and back (Bus or Van - Depending on no. of ppl opting for transport + Jeep). We will share actual cost between the participants. Should be around Rs.1800-2200.
4) We can also arrange transportation from Coimbatore depends on the group size the cost varies.

Avalanche- Awesome place to visit...Real time camping experience...Good food...Fantastic weather... most memorable activities like kayaking, trekking and truck experience... Really had a great time... Thanks for all the participants...

Avalanche is awesome place to relax in the midst of nature with amazing views. Visited this place with friends. Management is so friendly and helpful and do their best to make you feel at home. Safety is taken care. Tents are available with sleeping bags. It was a completely different experience for me and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute, this would not have been possible without exotic camp. Would definitely recommend this visit many more places with exotic camp and would visit you again soon.

My first trekking to Avalanche.. .. One of the best experience in times with my friends and super cool bunch of co travellers who made this trip a life time memory!! The beauty of the place and the ambience of nature made me to forget the tiredness and soon we reached the camp... Trust me the place looked like a heaven within a heaven..... I really have to mention about Exoti Team (VP, Sam) and our guide Moses... They made themselves one among us and we all had an awesome time together...We was made to feel absolultely safe and comfortable. Delicious Food.. Kayaking....Rappelling... Campfire night!! These priceless memories will be instilled in all our hearts and won't be forgotten for a long long time...Cant wait to go on my next trip with Exotic ...who knows what exciting stuff awaits!!! Exoticamp rock!!!!

One of my friend took me for Avalnchi (Ooty) camping, that was my first experience in camping with all strangers and I was scared initially, after I met organizers, they made me very comfortable. And next two days just like that gone.... enjoyed lot....best place to chill out with friends. This full rating mainly for Organizers.
