About the campsite

There is much more to Tamil Nadu than just Ooty, Kodaikanal & Yercaud. Tamil Nadu is a treasure trove with a lot of hidden gems yet to be uncovered and explored.

One such gem is Kalvarayan Hills. A part of the Eastern Ghats, Kalvarayan Hills is located in the Kallakurichi district 150 kms from Pondichery and 250 kms from Chennai. Kalvarayan hills or Kalrayan hills is divided into two sections. The high ranges are known as Periya Kalvarayan Hills (Large / Big Kalvarayan Hills) standing at 4000 ft. and Chinna Kalvarayan Hills (Small Kalvarayan Hills) at 2700 ft.
With rugged mountain terrains, some breath-taking view points, unexplored waterfalls, endless coffee, areca nut & pepper plantations; Kalvarayan Hills is fast becoming an adventure tourism attraction. Because of its raw nature, very few tourists visit Kalrayan & hence very limited stay options.

Presenting an exclusive private campground with tented accommodation & back-up rooms at Vellimalai in Kalvarayan Hills. The campground is set amidst a sprawling pepper plantation & borders a bamboo forest on its boundaries. There are roof top tents with basic rooms underneath and also a tent area amongst the silver oak trees.

Campers could spend their day exploring the raw nature of Kalvarayan hills, go on hikes, visit viewpoints, spot birds, do fishing in our in-camp pond or just put their feet up and relax.

The camp provides all basic amenities for campers including neat restrooms, provision to cook in outdoors (on request) & an in-house kitchen that serves delicious meals.

There is also an array of outdoor games (badminton / volleyball etc)

Check In Check-in to the campsite post 1:30 pm and get your tents allocated

Waterfalls Visit
Head to a guided hike to waterfalls (depends on the weather) or a view point.

Night:

Campfire
Settle down for a campfire post the hike

Stargazing
Finish dinner & indulge in DIY stargazing. Download sky-view / sky-map app

Day 2

Morning:

Farm Walk
Wake to the sound of chirping birds. Take a stroll around the farm to spot some birds.

Village walk
Post breakfast, go on a guided hike around the village

Noon:

Check Out Return from the hike & check-out at 11.30 am

75% refund for all cancellations done 7 days before the date of stay
No refund for cancellations within 7 days from the date of stay
Booking dates cannot be transferred / rescheduled
In case of govt. imposed lockdowns / Covid disruptions, an option to reschedule booking to any other date within a year will be given. No refund will be issued.
Refunds if any will be credited to the source account in 7 working days

Vellimalai / Kalvarayan Hills is located 50 kms from Kallakurichi off Ulundurpet - Salem highway.
It is around 250 kms from Chennai, 150 Kms from Pondy & 290 kms from Bangalore. The Campsite cannot be reached by public transport.
