About the campsite
Lesser known & less explored Ramakkalmedu is an enchanting little hill destination, located in the Idukki district of Kerala on the Tamilnadu – Kerala border. Ramakkalmedu is one of the windiest places in Asia & hence is dotted with numerous wind farms.
Perched at an altitude of 3500 ft. in the Western Ghats; Ramakkalmedu’s landscape consists of rolling meadows, shola & bamboo forests making it perfect for camping.

Our campsite is placed on top of a hillock surrounded by windmills; offering stunning views of the Tamil Nadu side of the valley & towering peaks of the Western Ghats. With Thekkady, Munnar & other hill towns slowly becoming crowded even for Camping in Kerala; Ramakkalmedu comes as a breath of fresh air for Campers looking to pitch tents in Kerala.
Its proximity to major Kerala towns & easy access from Cumbum & Theni towns of Tamilnadu makes this campsite a picture-perfect weekend getaway option.

While you camp here; you could also check-out Kuravan Kurathi Statue, Malamuzhakki Vezhambal viewpoint, Thooval waterfalls (30 km) and Vineyards at Cumbum, Tamilnadu (22km).

My Wife and I went on a trip organized by EXOTIC CAMPS, and I couldn't have been happier with my experience. Firstly, the host was incredibly welcoming and made everyone feel at ease right from the start. His warm personality and enthusiasm for his work really shone through, and it made the trip all the more enjoyable. We chose the Megamalai & Ramakkalmedu camp site, and both the venue was perfect. The surroundings were serene and peaceful, making it the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. But the highlight of the trip had to be the food. While we were on our way to Ramakalmedu, the host took us to a countryside hotel “Jothi’s mess” in cumbum. I must really say we had amazing food and everything was delicious. Once we reached the Ramakkalmedu, We started trekking and the itinerary was well-planned and allowed us to see some of the most breathtaking scenery in the area. Overall, I would highly recommend Exotic camps for anyone looking to go for a peaceful trip. Since they have expertise in the outdoors camping and other skills made for an unforgettable experience. I can't wait to plan my next trip with them!
