Himalayan Ridge Trek - Phulara
Ridge treks are not very common in India. There are many smaller ridge sections that you encounter during may Himalayan treks but a ridge that goes this far (4-5 hrs) is extremely rare.
Phulara Ridge (12,127 Ft) lies in Govind Wildlife Sanctuary of Uttaraknad. Phulara is one amongst the many pristine treks that you can do in Uttarkashi district and one of the handful of ridge treks in India. But what separates Phulara is, it has not seen many footsteps that differentiates it from other places.
So what is a Ridge?
A Ridge is where two sides of the mountain meet right at the top (Like a spinal cord running along an animal’s back / a knife’s edge).
You would be traversing through different terrains ranging from dense pine forests to openscapes surrounded by snow caed peaks & lush green meadows dotted with colorful flowers. If you have sumitted any of the Himalayan peaks, the best of the best views would be right at the summit. But with Phulara Ridge trek breathing panorama stays with you for an entire day you hike the ridge. It’s as surreal as any trek can get.
You’d also be camping at some dreamy locations along the way.
The best time to do this would be from March till November
