About the campsite

Presenting a camping holiday (2Night & 3Days) that will help you beat the heat of the plains and enthrall you with great views, awesome food, adventurous hikes & the experience of staying in tents under a blanket of a billion stars.

As a part of this camping experience you'd be camping in a hill-top campsite facing Satyamangalam Tiger Reserve & Moyar River near Kothagiri (30 Kms from Ooty)

The campsite is located in a quite little part of Nilgiris which remains largely unexplored till this day. Perched at an altitude of 1900 meters campsite offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Moyar Valley, Rangaswamy Peak & Bhavani Sagar Dam.

Set atop a tea plantation you can spend your stay exploring tribal settlements, following quieter trails leading to beautiful view points and enjoying a cold night under the stars in a tent. You could also spot Indian Gaur, Wild Boar & various endemic birds of the western ghats. The campsite has all amenities including fully functional kitchen, near restrooms, hot water etc.to make your stay comfortable. The campsite is also known for brilliant night skies and stargazing session with telescope.

The campsite enjoys great weather throughout the year, with occasional mist drifting in and out of the campsite. The chances of spotting native wildlife is always there. The place is also fantastic for bird spotting. One could spot Orange Flycatchers, Nilgiri Flycatchers, Red-whiskered Bulbuls, Nilgiri Laughing Thrush, Grey headed Canary Flycatcher, Bar-winged Flycatcher Shrike etc.

The campsite is fully equipped with neat washrooms, dinning area, functioning kitchen & basic electricity in common areas to charge your phones.

Day 1

Noon:

Stream Visit
Assemble at Mettupalayam by 8 am and head to a stream in the mountains.

Check In Drive towards the camp. Finish Veg Lunch on the way. Park you bike/car/van and reach the campsite through a short downhill hike. Check into your tents & explore the campsite and relax for a while.

Sunset Hike
In the evening, head out for a breathtaking guided sunset hike to a nearby peak. You could also spot Indian Gaur, Elephants & Variety of Birds Endemic to Western Ghats (Purely by chance). Have your tea and snacks and get ready for the campfire session

Post sunset, assemble for a session of Campfire

Stargazing
After campfire you could finish dinner, sit-back and do a bit of stargazing (DIY through Sky View App). Near Zero light pollution & higher altitude makes for a brilliant experience. Try out the telescope in the site, spot few stars and planet if the sky is clear

Day 2

Noon:

Check Out Wake up to a cold morning & a great view from your tents. Freshen up, finish your morning tea and go on a leisurely stroll around the campsite to spot some birds.

Hiking
Post breakfast go on a hike to a tribal village

Waterfalls Visit
Return from the hike, finish lunch and head towards a waterfalls for a refreshing dip

Night:

Campfire
Return from the falls, finish dinner & settle down for a campfire session under the starlit skies

Day 3

Morning:

Waterfalls Visit
Wake-up, finish breakfast and visit another waterfalls

Noon:

Check Out Finish lunch on the way & say bye bye with fond memories. Reach Mettuplayam by 5pm

Cancellation Policy:

75% refund for all cancellations done 7 days before the date of stay
No refund for cancellations within 7 days from the date of stay
Booking dates cannot be transferred / rescheduled
Incase of govt. imposed lockdowns / Covid disruptions, option to reschedule booking to any other date within a year will be given. No refund will be issued.
Refunds if any will be credited to the source account in 7 working days

How to get here?

The campsite can be accessed by own and Public Transport. There is open Car / Van / Bike parking space at the base camp. The nearest Railway station / Major Bus Stand is Ooty.

Transport options:
1) Drive from Bangalore / Coimbatore / Chennai on your own. There is open Car / Van / Bike parking at both campsites.
2) You could also come to Coimbatore & opt for transport arranged by us. Rs.1250 (for only first 12 members)
3) There is also transport available from Chennai & back at an additional cost Rs.2550 (for only first 12 members)
